This specimen was lot 31202 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2025), where it sold for $1,920. The catalog description[1] noted, "BULGARIA. 10 Stotinki, 1887-AB. Brussels Mint. Ferdinand I as Prince. NGC MS-62 Brown. Commemorating Ferdinand's election as the Prince of Bulgaria, this nearly-Choice specimen features deep chocolate brown surfaces and some lighter tan-brown hues sprinkled about." Ferdinand (1861-1948) was prince of Bulgaria 1887-1908 and Tsar 1908-18. He spent the last thirty years of his life in exile in Germany. The obverse die was also used to strike a ten santim pattern (KM Pn1). Neither were adopted for production.
