This specimen was lot 5577 in Künker sale 354 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €900 (about US$1,253 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRAUNSCHWEIG UND LÜNEBURG, BRAUNSCHWEIG-WOLFENBÜTTEL, FÜRSTENTUM, Wilhelm, 1831-1884. Taler 1841, CvC. Selten in dieser Erhaltung. Prachtexemplar. Fast Stempelglanz. Aus der Sammlung eines Ingenieurs. Exemplar der Auktion Fritz Rudolf Künker 72, Osnabrück 2002, Nr. 3393. (Germany, duchy of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel, William, 1831-84, thaler of 1841. Scarce in this quality, choice example, about extremely fine.)"

This is the most available date of a type struck 1839-42 and 1848-50. Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel struck thalers to the Prussian standard (22.27 g, 0.750 fine silver) until 1855, then vereinsthalers thereafter.
