Künker Auction 439, lot 2394

This specimen was lot 2394 in Künker sale 439 (Osnabrück, March 2026), where it sold for €2,200 (about US$3,027 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRAUNSCHWEIG-WOLFENBÜTTEL, FÜRSTENTUM Karl II., 1815-1830. Unter Vormundschaft des Prinzregenten Georg von Großbritannien (später Georg IV.), 1815-1820. 10 Taler 1819 FR. GOLD. Seltener Jahrgang. Sehr schön. (duchy of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel, Charles II, 1815-30, under the regency of prince George of Great Britain, 1815-20, ten thalers of 1819. Rare date, very fine.)"

This type was issued in small quantities 1817-19 along with a gold 2½ (KM 1072) and five thaler (KM 1073). The last ten thaler was struck in 1857.
