This specimen was lot 55447 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Pittsburgh, PA, August 2023), where it sold for $240. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Brunswick-Luneburg: Brunswick. Taler, 1622-HS. Clausthal Mint. Friedrich Ulrich. Extremely Fine Details -- Scratched. From the Robert C. Knepper Collection." This type was struck 1622-29 and is a fairly common thaler of the period. This design was struck at Clausthal while the very similar Dav-6303 was struck at Goslar and Zellerfeld. Duke Friedrich Ulrich ruled 1613-34.
