This specimen was lot 2 in Künker sale 400 (Berlin, February 2024), where it sold for €70,000 (about US$90,811 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BRAUNSCHWEIG UND LÜNEBURG, BRAUNSCHWEIG-WOLFENBUTTEL, Julius, 1568-1589. Löser zu 10 Reichstalern 1583, Heinrichstadt (Wolfenbüttel). Mit zwei geprägten Wertzahlen; Münzmeister Heinrich Veeber (in Heinrichstadt 1574-1585). Behelmtes und geharnischtes Hüftbild halbr. mit der Rechten die Streitaxt schulternd, die Linke am Schwertgriff, zu den Seiten die geteilte Jahreszahl 8 - 3, umher Kreis mit den sieben personifizierten Planeten sowie ein weiterer Kreis mit den zwölf Sternzeichen, umgeben von zwei Schriftkreisen//Dreifach behelmtes, sechsfeldiges Wappen, l. wilder Mann mit Reichsapfel in der Rechten, darin die geprägte Wertzahl X, r. wilder Mann mit Licht in der Linken; umher zwei Schriftkreise mit geprägter Wertzahl. Von allergrößter Seltenheit. Hübsche Patina, kl. Randfehler, winz. Schrötlingsfehler, sehr schön, Exemplar der Auktion Westfälische Auktionsgesellschaft 57, Dortmund 2011, Nr. 219. (Germany, duchy of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel, Julius, 1568-89, ten thaler of 1583, Heinrichstadt mint, with the value punched in twice. obverse: helmeted and armored half-length portrait right, holding a battle ax and sword, dividing the date; around, a circle with the seven personified planets and another circle with the twelve zodiac signs, surrounded by two circles of legends; reverse: triple helmeted, six-fold arms supported by wild men. Of the highest rarity, handsome patina, small edge flaws and planchet defects, very fine.)"
