This specimen was lot 55390 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Pittsburgh, PA, August 2023), where it sold for $312. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Brunswick-Luneburg: Wolfenbuttel. Taler, '48' (1548). Riechenberg Mint. Heinrich 'the Younger'. PCGS Genuine--Scratch, EF Details. From the Robert C. Knepper Collection." This type is listed for 1548-52, all with two digit dates. It is scarce; this example realized only one fifth of the catalog value. The very similar Dav-9045 has the reverse legend, "IN*GOTS*GEWA*HA*I*M*S*G*STALT*GOT*", whereas this one says, "IN*GOTS*GWALT*HAT*I*GSTALT*".
