This specimen was lot 5138 in Künker sale 386 (Osnabrück, March 2023), where it sold for €320 (about US$414 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BRAUNSCHWEIG-LÜNEBURG-CELLE, FÜRSTENTUM, Christian Ludwig, 1648-1665. Reichstaler 1664, Clausthal. Feine Patina, sehr schön-vorzüglich. (duchy of Brunswick-Luneburg-Celle, Christian Louis, 1648-65, thaler of 1664, Clausthal mint. Fine patina, very fine to extremely fine.)"
This "leaping stallion" thaler is listed for 1649-65, i.e., Christian Ludwig's entire reign. However, despite the many years of production, it is on the expensive side.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: silver, this specimen 28.96 g.
