This specimen was lot 31142 in Heritage sale 3067 (Long Beach, September 2018), where it sold for $3,840. The catalog description[1] noted, "British West Africa: British Colony. George V Specimen Shilling 1917-H SP68 PCGS. A spectacular piece from the Heaton Mint Archives Collection and one of only three recorded Specimens. Endowed with a fantastic strike, flawless surfaces, and cascading tones of pastel blues and russet highlights. From the Feeling Good Collection." This is a common date of a type struck 1913-20.
