This specimen was lot 73221 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2022), where it sold for $384. The catalog description[1] noted, "BRITISH WEST AFRICA. Penny, 1917-H. Heaton Mint. George V. NGC MS-65. Vibrantly lustrous and satiny, this Gem is sure to appeal to many collectors." This type was struck 1912-22, 1926-29, 1933-36.
Recorded mintage: 444,000, a slightly better date.
