British North Borneo is today known as Sabah and is a state of Malaysia. In the nineteenth century, half cents and cents were issued for the colony by the Heaton Mint. This type was struck 1904, 1921, 1935, 1938 and 1941. The 1938 is the most common but no dates are rare.

Recorded mintage: 2,000,000.

Specification: copper-nickel.
