This specimen was lot 70258 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2021), where it sold for $3,120. The catalog description[1] noted, "BRITISH HONDURAS. 50 Cents, 1906. Edward VII. PCGS MS-62. The SCARCE date of this two year type, not often seen in uncirculated grades. An attractive, boldly struck coin with diffuse, cartwheel luster and strong gray to lilac toning. Great eye appeal like this deserves a strong bid." This type was also struck in 1907. The country, long claimed by Guatemala, is now known as Belize.
