This specimen was lot 1347 in Stephen Album internet sale 28 (Santa Rosa, CA, July 2024), where it sold for $54. The catalog description[1] noted, "BRITISH GUIANA: AR 1/2 guilder, 1836, Fine." British Guiana, on the north coast of South America, was normally sent regular British coins (such as this groat) for circulation but in 1836, a series of one eighth, one quarter, one half and one guilder coins were minted and issued. The experiment was not repeated.
