This specimen was lot 29484 in Heritage sale 3037 (New York, January 2015), where it sold for $2,350. The catalog description[1] noted, "Bremen. Free City gold 10 Mark 1907-J MS66 NGC, Hamburg mint, A spectacular example of this one-year type with vibrant, golden luster and an exacting strike. Scarce, especially in this gem grade designation." Bremen, one of the two imperial free cities under the Empire, had these coins struck by her rival, Hamburg. This one year type is rare.
Recorded mintage: 20,006 plus a few proofs.
Specification: 3.98 g, 0.900 fine gold, .115 troy oz ASW, reeded edge.
