This specimen was lot 25216 in Heritage sale 61382 (Dallas, March 2024), where it sold for $109. The catalog description[1] noted, "Brazil: Republic 100 Reis 1898 MS63 NGC." This is a copper-nickel 100 réis of the United States of Brazil. Much scarcer in nice condition than the SCWC indicates, even tho the type was struck 1889 and 1893-1900. The 100 réis gradually shrank (KM 503, KM 518, KM 527, KM 536 and KM 544) until its abolition in 1942 with the reform of the coinage in that year.

Recorded mintage: 3,685,000.

Specification: 9.8 g, copper-nickel, 27.1 mm diameter.
