This specimen was lot 23925 in Heritage sale 3026 (Long Beach, October 2013), where it sold for $1,057.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Maria I gold 6400 Reis 1804-R, AU55 NGC. Bright luster remains in the fields with some typical central striking incompleteness and a touch of highpoint friction. From The RLM Collection, Part II." The peça or 6400 réis was the most common gold denomination with its fractions being much scarcer. This type was struck 1787-1805.
