This specimen was lot 23226 in Heritage sale 3020 (Long Beach, September 2012), where it sold for $1,292.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Maria I 640 Reis 1795R, XF40 NGC, attractive gray patina, fully original. Very scarce date and grade. From The Santana Collection of 640 Reis." The type was struck in Lisbon 1787-95 and Rio 1791-1800. The year 1795 is a rare date for both mints.

Specification: 17.76 g, 0.917 fine silver, .523 troy oz ASW.
