This specimen was lot 23865 in Heritage sale 3026 (Long Beach, October 2013), where it sold for $9,987.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Maria I & Pedro III gold 3200 Reis 1785-B, XF Details NGC. Small repair (smoothing) to the right of the crown. Above average specimen. One of the rarest dates of the series. From The RLM Collection, Part II." The peça or 6400 réis was the most common gold denomination with its fractions being much scarcer.
