This specimen was lot 23994 in Heritage sale 3026 (Long Beach, October 2013), where it sold for $8,225. The catalog description[1] noted, "João V gold 6400 Reis 1750-B, MS65 NGC, a superb coin with well-struck details and full mint brilliance, very rare Bahia Mint product in this exclusive quality. The 5 appears to be punched over a 4, the overdate unlisted." This type was struck 1731-50 and is among the more available colonial gold coins of Brazil.
