Künker sale 335, lot 3703

This specimen was lot 3703 in Künker sale 335 (Osnabrück, Germany, March 2020), where it sold for €420 (about US$550 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRANDENBURG IN FRANKEN, MARKGRAFSCHAFT, Georg Friedrich, 1557-1603. 1/2 Guldentaler (30 Kreuzer) 1565, Schwabach, mit Titel Maximilians II. Slg. Grüber (Auktion Künker 267) 3313. RR Fast sehr schön. (Germany, margraviate of Brandenburg-Franconia, George Frederick, 1557-1603, half gulden thaler (30 kreuzer) of 1565, Schwabach mint, in the name of Maximilian II. About very fine.)"

This is the period when Brandenburg was separated from Brandenburg in Franconia, which later split into Brandenburg-Bayreuth and Brandenburg-Ansbach.
