This specimen was lot 42299 in Stack's Bowers Summer 2026 Global Showcase Auction (Pittsburgh, September 2026), where it sold for $1,159. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Brandenburg-Ansbach. Taler, 1619. Furth Mint. Joachim Ernst. NGC EF-45. Overall pleasant surfaces with modest signs of handling and problem free surfaces. From the Heisner Collection from Down Under." The early 1620's saw an explosion of thaler issues as princes hired soldiers and bought weapons at the beginning of the Thirty Years War. This type of 1609, 1619-20 is fairly common tho not as available as later issues such as Dav-6237 or Dav-6238.
