Brabant 1667(h) 1/2 ducaton
This specimen was lot 626 in Jean Elsen sale 157 (Brussels, December 2023), where it sold for €1,400 (about US$1,805 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BRABANT, Duché, Charles II (1665-1700), AR demi-ducaton, 1667, Anvers. Premier type. D/ B. enfantin à d. R/ Deux lions ten. une grande couronne au-dessus de l'écu du roi, orné du bijou de la Toison d'or. Très rare. Légère faiblesse de frappe. Très Beau. (duchy of Brabant, Charles II, 1665-1700, silver half ducaton of 1667, Antwerp mint, first type. Obverse: infant bust to right; reverse: crowned arms supported by two lions; below, the jewels of the Golden Fleece. Very rare, slightly weakly struck, very Fine.)"
The SCWC does not list this date altho a photo of it is shown attached to the half ducaton of Philip IV (KM 73). Other half ducatons were struck in Flanders.
