Jean Elsen sale 145, lot 1477

This specimen was lot 1477 in Jean Elsen sale 145 (Brussels, September 2020), where it sold for €440 (about US$627 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRABANT, Duché, Charles Quint (1506-1555), AV demi-réal d'or, s.d. (1521-1552), Anvers. Ponctuation par croisettes. D/ Ecu impérial couronné, sur une croix fleuronnée. R/ Ecu à seize quartiers couronné. Fine fêlure du flan. Très Beau à Superbe. Provient de notre vente 73, 15 mars 2003, 829. (duchy of Brabant, Charles V, 1506-55, undated gold half real, Antwerp mint, punctuated with crosslets. Obverse: crowned imperial arms over a floriate cross; reverse: crowned arms with sixteen quarters. Fine edge crack, Very Fine - Extremely Fine.)"

We note that this coin was also minted at Maastricht (Fr-61) but is scarcer therefrom.
