Bologna 1779 quattrino KM-267

from the Tom Fitzgerald Collection

This type was issued 1778-79 for Pius VI (1774-99) from the Bologna mint. At Bologna, six quattrini = one bolognini instead of five quattrini as elsewhere. This type is listed in four varieties (KM 267, KM 268, KM 284 and KM 285) in the SCWC with only KM 267 pictured. We attribute this specimen to KM 267 by the absence of stars on the reverse.
