This type was struck in Santiago, Chile, for Bolivia in 2010 and 2012. It was accompanied by ten, twenty and fifty centavos and one and two bolivianos. Another five bolivianos of 2010 (KM 212) had the traditional legend "REPUBLICA DE BOLIVIA". At present (September 2025), US$1 = 6.9 bolivianos. Altho Bolivia was ravaged by hyperinflation in the '70's and '80's, the exchange rate has been remarkably stable for the last ten years.

Recorded mintage: unknown but not rare.

Specification: 5 g, bimetallic: bronze plated steel center in stainless steel ring, 23 mm diameter, reeded edge.
