This specimen was lot 1346 in Stephen Album internet sale 28 (Santa Rosa, CA, July 2024), where it sold for $240. The catalog description[1] noted, "BOLIVIA: Republic, AR 1/2 sol, 1853-PTS, a superb example, PCGS graded MS65." This type was struck at Potosi 1853-56 in numerous varieties. For 1853, the SCWC notes "Inverted A for V in BOLIVIANA" and "first C/S in Constitucion" and others likely exist. These debased coins flooded South America despite the protests of Bolivia's neighbors.
