This specimen was issued by Bhutan as part of the F.A.O. series. It was accompanied by a silver thirty ngultrums (KM 44). At present, the ngultrum (divided into 100 chhertum), is pegged at par with the Indian rupee (US$1 = 68.5 rupees as of April 2019). The current coinage was introduced in 1974.

Recorded mintage: 4,000,000.

Specification: 2.3 g, aluminum, 26 mm diameter.
