This specimen was lot 72435 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, November 2023), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "BERMUDA. Gold 250 Dollars Piefort, 1981. Llantrisant Mint. Elizabeth II. NGC PROOF-67 Ultra Cameo. Commemorating the Royal Wedding of Prince Charles and Lady Diana. A RARE and enticing offering that presents a majestic cameo nature." If the mintage of 690 reported by the auctioneers is correct, then the piefort is almost as common as the regular issue.

Recorded mintage: 217 plus 790 proofs plus 690 pieforts.

Specification: 15.97 g, 0.917 fine gold, 28.4 mm diameter; piefort is 31.95 g.
