Bermuda became a crown colony of Great Britain in 1684, and remains a British colony to the present. The type shown was struck in 1959 but circulated little and is today common. It is the only full weight crown issued for the islands; the crown of 1964 is reduced in weight and fineness. Decimal coinage commenced in 1970.

Recorded mintage: 100,000 plus a few proofs.

Specification: 28.28 g, 0.925 fine silver, 38 mm diameter.
