This five francs was struck for king Baudouin I of Belgium, 1986-93. The 1986 is by far the most common date; the years 1989-91 were struck only for collector sets. An equal quantity were struck with Dutch legends (KM 164). Belgium joined the euro in 2002 and all the franc coinage is obsolete.

Recorded mintage: 208 ,450 ,000.

Specification: 5.5 g, brass, 24 mm diameter, designed by Jean-Paul Laenen. Per Numista, this coin is actually aluminum bronze (92% Cu-6% Al-2% Ni).
