This type was struck at the Brussels mint 1964-75 for Belgium. A similar type (KM 154) was struck with Flemish legends. Some dates exist with medal alignment; these are noted as KM 153.2. The Brussels mint ceased operations in 2018 and Belgium orders its coins from the Utrecht mint.
Recorded mintage: 20,000,000 plus 20,000,000 with Flemish legends.
Specification: 1.8 g, copper-nickel, 18 mm diameter, designed by Raf Mailleux.
