This specimen was lot 3324 in Goldberg sale 62 (Beverly Hills, February 2010), where it sold for $264.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Belgium. 20 Francs, 1914. French - Position A. Uniformed bust of King Albert. NGC graded MS-65." This was the last gold twenty francs issued in Belgium. The devastation of World War One, mostly fought on Belgian soil, prevented a return to hard currency.
