Bamberg 1750-CGL ducat Fr-170
This specimen was lot 3931 in Künker sale 406 (Osnabrück, March 2024), where it sold for €3,600 (about US$4,724 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BAMBERG, BISTUM, Johann Philipp Anton von Frankenstein, 1746-1753. Dukat 1750, Nürnberg. GOLD. RR Min. gewellt, fast vorzüglich. (Germany, bishopric of Bamberg, John Philip Anthony of Frankenstein, 1746-53, ducat of 1750, Nuremberg mint. Very rare, slightly wavy, about extremely fine.)"
All of the gold of this ecclesiastical state is rare. Many of the bishops were pluralists (i.e., also bishops of Würzburg) but not Johann Philipp Anton.
