This specimen was lot 2245 in Steve Album Auction 54 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2026), where it sold for $216. The catalog description[1] noted, "BAHAWALPUR: Anonymous, 1835-1868 (AH1251-1286), AR rupee, Ahmadpur, AH1286//1286, obverse legend sekke-ye mubarak-i dar al-islam, bold date on both sides, AU, RRR. Type KM-3.4 was used only AH1285-1286, and none on CoinArchives, ACSearch, or Zeno." The state of Bahawalpur lies in the southwest part of Punjab, in the Thar desert. This type was struck AH 1285-1286 and is somewhat scarce.
