This specimen was lot 34009 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, May 2024), where it sold for $3,600. The catalog description[1] noted, "BAHAMAS. 250 Dollars, 1990. Llantrisant Mint. Elizabeth II. PCGS PROOF-67 Deep Cameo. Commemorating the discovery of the new world, this hefty gold issue delivers a Superb-Gem Proof appeal, with sharp contrast and no immediate signs of haze or tone." This is one of an extensive series of commemoratives honoring Colombus' discovery in 1492.
