This specimen was lot 2739 in Stephen Album sale 37 (Santa Rosa, CA, June 2020), where it sold for $226.10. The catalog description[1] noted, "AWADH: Muhammad Ali Shah, 1837-1842, AR rupee, Lucknow, AH1253 year 1, mint name variety A111, very rare one-year type, EF, RR, ex William F. Spengler Collection, KM Plate Specimen." Wikipedia comments, "Nasser-ud-daula Mu'in ad-Din Muhammad Ali Shah (1774 – May 7, 1842), was the third King of Oudh from 7 July 1837 to 7 May 1842." His predecessor, Ghazi ud-Din Haidar, promoted himself from nawab to king with British connivance, setting aside the nominal suzerainty of the Mogul emperor. Later, a succession dispute resulted in British intervention and overlordship. Resentment of this and other acts led to the Indian Mutiny of 1857, which was centered at Awadh's capital Lucknow.
