This specimen was lot 1203 in Jean Elsen sale 160 (Brussels, November 2024), where it sold for €160 (about US$203 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRABANT, Duché, Marie-Thérèse (1740-1780), Cu liard, 1749, Anvers. D/ B. diad. à d., avec collier de perles. R/ Inscription en cinq lignes. presque Superbe. (duchy of Brabant, Maria Theresia, 1740-80, copper liard of 1749, Antwerp mint. Obverse: diademed bust right with pearl necklace; reverse: inscription in five lines. About extremely fine.)"

This type was struck 1749-52 at Antwerp (shown here) and Bruges and was worth 1/480 of a ducaton.

Recorded mintage: 5,589,797 for 1749-51.

Specification: 3.75 g, copper, 22 mm diameter, this specimen is 3,71 g.
