This specimen was lot 74345 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it sold for $1,020. The catalog description[1] noted, "AUSTRIA. 50 Euros, 2005. Vienna Mint. NGC MS-70. A stunning and appealing flawless example honoring Ludwig van Beethoven, delivering luminous and unmarked surfaces." The other side shows Lobkowitz Palace, which is not in Austria, but in Prague. The 7th prince of Lobkowitz was a patron of Beethoven and many of the composer's manuscripts are in its archives.
