This specimen was lot 2297 in Goldberg sale 103 (Los Angeles, February 2018), where it sold for $423. The catalog description[1] noted, "Austria. 500 Schilling, 2001. 2000 Year of Christianity - Bible. In original box with certificate. Choice Brilliant Proof." This denomination was used exclusively for commemoratives. This is the last of the denomination before the introduction of the euro. Five schillings (KM 3078, 3080) exist in silver for 2001.

Recorded mintage: 50,000 proofs.

Specification: 10.14 g, 0.986 fine gold, 22 mm diameter, 0.3214 ounce AGW.
