This specimen was lot 74082 in Stack's Bowers May 2026 World Premier Collectors Choice Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, May 2026), where it sold for $195.20. The catalog description[1] noted, "AUSTRIA. 5 Schillings, 1936. Vienna Mint. PCGS MS-63." This is the scarcest of the three dates struck (1934-36). The "Mariazell" design is better known on the gold 100 schilling (KM 2857).
Recorded mintage: 1,409,000.
