Künker sale 352, lot 1666

This specimen was lot 1666 in Künker sale 352 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €200 (about US$278 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"KAISERREICH ÖSTERREICH, Franz Josef I. 1848-1916. 10 Kronen 1896, Wien. Feingold. GOLD. Sehr schön. (empire of Austria-Hungary, Francis Joseph I, 1848-1916, ten corona of 1896, Vienna mint. Very fine.)"

This type was struck 1892-97, 1905-06. It accompanied a similar gold twenty corona. This date is not rare but the later dates are common enough that they trade for bullion.

Recorded mintage: 211,000.

Specification: 3.39 g, 0.900 fine gold, this specimen 3,05 g in gold.

Catalog reference: Herinek 20, Veselý 123, KM 2805, Fr-506; J. 378; Schl. 642.
