This specimen was lot 4579 in Künker sale 406 (Osnabrück, March 2024), where it sold for €750 (about US$984 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"RÖMISCH-DEUTSCHES REICH, Leopold I. 1657-1705. 1/4 Reichstaler 1704, St. Veit. RR Hübsche Patina, sehr schön. (Austria, Leopold I, 1657-1705, quarter thaler of 1704, St. Veit mint. Very rare, handsome patina, very fine.)"

This issue of St. Veit is the only dated quarter thaler of the latter part of Leopold's reign. Another quarter thaler of St. Veit (KM 1415) features the emperor's bust inside a circle instead of the diamond shown here. Both are scarce.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: silver, this specimen 7.17 g.

Catalog reference: KM 1416, Herinek 861.
