This specimen was lot 451 in Stack's Bowers ANA auction (Chicago, August 2014), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "AUSTRIA. Taler, 1606. Vienna Mint. Rudolf II (1576-1612). NGC AU-55. Toned with colored highlights at periphery." This particular type is listed for 1601-09 and closely related types with the portrait of Rudolf II were struck at Hall, Vienna and Graz until his death in 1612. For 1606, these types included Dav-3005B and Dav-3314. Earlier dates are catalogued as Dav-8094.
