This specimen was lot 1864 in Künker Auction 425 (Osnabrück, July 2025), where it sold for €950 (about US$1,345 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"HABSBURGISCHE ERBLANDE-ÖSTERREICH · RÖMISCH-DEUTSCHES REICH, Erzherzog Karl, 1564-1590. Reichstaler 1578, Klagenfurt. R Feine Patina, sehr schön +. (Holy Roman Empire, archduke Charles, 1564-90, thaler of 1578, Klagenfurt mint. Rare, fine patina, very fine or better.)"
This type was struck in 1578, 1580-85 at Klagenfurt in Styria. For some reason, the ducats appear more often than the thalers.
