This specimen was lot 2253 in Künker sale 439 (Osnabrück, March 2026), where it sold for €4,000 (about US$5,503 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"RÖMISCH-DEUTSCHES REICH, Maximilian II., 1564-1576. Dukat 1570 (Jahreszahl im Stempel aus 1569 geändert), Wien. GOLD. RR Leicht gewellt, vorzüglich. Aus der Sammlung Kommerzialrat Dr. Herbert Wenzel, Wien. Exemplar der Slg. Karl. Hollschek, Sonder-Münzenauktion, Austria in Nummis, 1. Teil, Wien, Februar 1956, Nr. IV. (Holy Roman Empire, Maximilian II, 1564-76, ducat of 1570, Vienna mint, 1570/69 overdate. Very rare, slightly wavy, extremely fine.)"
This was struck at Vienna 1567-76 and is accounted a better type.
