Stack's Bowers September 2025 Collectors Choice sale, lot 74170

This specimen was lot 74170 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, September 2025), where it sold for $145. The catalog description[1] noted, "AUSTRALIA. 5 Cents, 2012. Elizabeth II. PCGS PROOF-70 Deep Cameo. Echidna." This was issued as part of an eight piece set of gold miniatures struck in 2012. The regular copper-nickel five cents is 19.4 mm diameter and the silver proof the same.

Recorded mintage: 68,700,000 in copper-nickel plus 1,400 in silver plus 2,000 in gold.

Specification: 0.5 g, 0.999 fine gold, 11.5 mm diameter, reeded edge.
