This specimen was lot 70293 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, June 2021), where it sold for $4,080. The catalog description[1] noted, "AUSTRALIA. 200 Dollars, 2003-P. Perth Mint. NGC PROOF-67 Ultra Cameo. RARELY encountered, this massive gold issue features rather intense brilliance to the fields and pleasing frosted nature to the devices." This two ounce gold NLCT is intended to compete with other gold coins such as the panda, the maple leaf and the libertad. The US Mint does not offer a two ounce bullion coin.

Recorded mintage: 200 proofs.

Specification: 62.21 g, 0.999 fine gold, 41 mm diameter, 2 troy oz AGW.
