The specimen shown is from a type struck for Australia 1966-84. This type was struck in large numbers and no dates are rare. The succeeding type (KM 78) used the Maklouf bust of the queen 1985-91, after which the denomination was suspended.
Recorded mintage: 205,625,000 plus 80,000 proofs.
Specification: 2.6 g, bronze, 17.65 mm diameter, designed by Arnold Machin and Stuart Devlin.
