This specimen was lot 74472 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2024), where it sold for $85. The catalog description[1] noted, "AUSTRALIA. 1/2 Penny, 1933. Melbourne Mint. George V. PCGS MS-64 Red Brown. Nicely preserved and attractive, this near Gem example displays lovely mottled patina with plenty original mint red and a slight iridescent sheen. From the Richard Margolis Collection." The type was struck 1911-36 at London, Calcutta, Melbourne (this specimen), Sydney and Heaton. The Melbourne mint produced this type 1920, 1923-36 without mintmark. This is a common date.

Recorded mintage: 4,608,000 plus proofs.

Specification: 5.67 g, bronze, 25.5 mm diameter, plain edge.
