This specimen was lot 1016 in Goldberg Sale 139 (Los Angeles, June 2024), where it sold for $348. The catalog description[1] noted, "Australia. Half Sovereign, 1877-M. Victoria. Young head left, with narrow ribbon. Reverse: Crowned, quartered, and garnished shield of arms. PCGS graded About Uncirculated Detail (Cleaned). Ex Noble Pty Ltd Sale 82, July 25, 2006, lot 1275. The Peh Collection Part II." This is a better date of a scarce type issued 1871-87. The SCWC notes it as twice the price of the sovereign of 1871-87. It was also minted at Sydney.
