This specimen was lot 1677 in Sincona sale 86 (Zürich, October 2023), where it sold for 300 CHF (about US$404 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"Victoria, 1837-1901. Half Sovereign 1875 S, Sydney. Third young head, shield reverse. NGC AU53."
This is a common date of a scarce type issued 1871-87. The SCWC notes it as twice the price of the sovereign of 1871-87. It was also minted at Melbourne, starting in 1873.
